HERNDON, Va. - May 4, 2006 - GeoLogic Solutions, the transportation industry's leading provider of multi-mode mobile communications and tracking systems, today announced the latest release of its Exec for Web™ platform. The original Web version of the Exec™ fleet management software platform, which is the host software component of GeoLogic's MobileMax™ Multi-Mode communications and tracking system, was initially developed for smaller fleets that needed access to fleet messages and locations without the need for an on-site server. The new Exec for Web platform has expanded to enable integration with various dispatch software applications, allowing fleets of any size to view, send and respond to any and all MobileMax events or functions via any Web browser from any location .
“This latest release of fleet management software will allow fleets of all sizes the choice of Web-based hosting solutions as well as traditional in-house server offerings,” said Chip Powell, director of product marketing for GeoLogic. “For larger fleets, it’s an added convenience to have the ability to see what is going on with the fleet from any computer with Internet access. For smaller fleets, it offers some of the same great fleet management tools used by their larger counterparts.”
Advanced MobileMax functions now available through Exec for Web include custom forms-based messaging, GPS locations via graphical mapping displays, engine diagnostic reporting, state-line crossing events, sending/receiving of emergency messages from driver personnel, geofencing, and reporting functionality for vital fleet performance data such as fuel consumption, idle time and speed compliance.
Western Transportation, the carrier division of Sandford Oil Company, which hauls fuel from Texas terminals around Decatur, Austin, and Wichita Falls, recently adopted MobileMax for its fleet of 32 vehicles. “We’re especially excited about Exec for Web,” related Ryan Cunnius, IT manager and dispatch assistant. “Instead of monitoring communications and tracking information using a separate system that would require an additional hardware investment, with Exec for Web we can use any Web browser from any computer, in any location.
“The ability to connect and view the status of our operation from anywhere there is Internet access is very valuable to us,” Cunnius continued. “With Exec for Web, we are not tied down to one computer system at our terminals.”
Western’s initial decision to utilize MobileMax was based on a thorough evaluation of several systems. “Where GeoLogic really shines is in its multi-mode capability that is not dependent on only a satellite or cellular system,” Cunnius stated. “Cingular GPRS was also a key component in our decision. We quickly became very impressed with its speed and accuracy.
“With MobileMax and Exec for Web,” Cunnius added, “we’re very confident we have all the capabilities we need in one system, especially instant access to vehicle location and status from anywhere. When we look at all the variables, GeoLogic’s MobileMax system is more advanced and has more to offer.”
Powell estimates that a majority of all new MobileMax users will elect to use Exec for Web in conjunction with the MobileMax system. “GeoLogic has long provided customers with state-of-the-art integration systems such as Exec for AS/400 and Exec for Windows,” Powell noted. “This release of Exec for Web demonstrates our continuing effort to provide customers with world-class functionality for mobile fleet management.”
