Herndon, Va. - September 20, 2006 - GeoLogic Solutions, the transportation industry's leading provider of Multi-Mode communications and tracking systems, today announced that Olathe, Kansas-based TransAm Trucking has extended its long-standing relationship with the company by purchasing 350 new MobileMax™ units and upgrading all of the systems in its operation with GeoLogic's new Cingular Wireless GPRS data solution. A refrigerated carrier founded in 1987, TransAm Trucking operates a fleet of approximately 1,200 tractors.
"We initially selected the MobileMax solution for its reliable and cost-effective multi-mode functionality," said Russ McElliott, chief operating officer for TransAm. "The GeoLogic offering has reduced our communications costs and streamlined operations for drivers as well as internally by automating billing, payroll, fuel tax, and maintenance reporting. It has also enabled us to improve productivity with its vehicle tracking capability and enhance customer service by providing exact, up-to-the-minute load status reports."
Late last year, GeoLogic announced Cingular's nationwide digital wireless network as an additional communications option. Both new and existing customers can take advantage of the expanded cellular coverage and increased data capabilities, such as remote software downloads done over the air, without touching the truck.
