Herndon, Va. – May 24, 2005 –
GeoLogic Solutions, the transportation industry’s leading
provider of Multi-Mode™ communications and tracking
systems, today announced that Ohio-based Zumstein, Inc. and
Cheesman Trucking have renewed their contracts and purchased
additional MobileMax™ Multi-Mode™ communications
and tracking systems.
Sister companies Zumstein, Inc. and Cheeseman Trucking were
users of earlier multi-mode communications and tracking systems
from GeoLogic Solutions starting as far back as 1994. Zumstein,
a 220-tractor fleet, hauls truckload general commodities freight
throughout the 48 contiguous United States and Canada concentrating
mainly in the eastern and central states. Cheeseman, purchased
by Zumstein in 1999, is a 165-tractor LTL operation that specializes
in large palletized shipments.
“Both carriers were using the GeoLogic solution over
the years,” reported Jim Jones, director of MIS at Zumstein.
“Since we were following the same path, it made it easier
to combine operations. More importantly, both companies are
very pleased with GeoLogic’s excellent coverage, service
and technical support, as well as its competitive price.”
This solid experience, according to Jones, easily convinced
the companies to remain GeoLogic customers. Last year, the
entire Cheeseman Trucking fleet converted to MobileMax units,
and all Zumstein vehicles are scheduled to be upgraded within
the next month or two. In addition, 30 new trucks that were
added to the Zumstein fleet in April will be equipped with
MobileMax as well.
“While our use of this technology dates back many
years,” Jones stated, “we are happy with our relationship
with GeoLogic and pleased that most of the people and processes
at the company are the same. The new MobileMax system is working
extremely well and as far as we’re concerned this will
be the same wonderful relationship we’ve always enjoyed.”
